This role is critical in supporting the hospital's mission by providing high-quality, nutritious meals prepared from scratch in a high-volume kitchen. The position operates at 60% FTE during days and evenings, with shifts from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM and every other weekend required; schedules may vary based on departmental needs. As a Room Service Line Cook, you will play an integral part in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment that values efficiency, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. The role involves preparing a wide variety of foods, including entrees, sandwiches, soups, starches, vegetables, sauces, and desserts, accommodating both general and modified diets to meet diverse patient needs. You will be responsible for assessing the quality and condition of ingredients, maintaining food production reports and documentation, and upholding rigorous standards of food safety and hygiene. The ideal candidate is experienced in high-volume food preparation and holds or is willing to obtain ServSafe certification within six months of hire.

Employees in this role enjoy a comprehensive benefits package featuring paid time off, including 15 days of vacation for full-time employees, health and dental insurance, retirement plans, and paid parental leave. The hospital also supports ongoing professional growth through continuing education opportunities and tuition benefits. Additional job perks include access to wellness programs aimed at supporting employee and family well-being and flexible scheduling options that promote a healthy work-life balance. Furthermore, UW Health offers employees transportation assistance through a free bus pass and differential pay for evening or night shifts, recognizing the value of their commitment and flexibility.

Joining UW Health as a Room Service Line Cook means contributing to a remarkable organization that prioritizes quality care not only for patients but also for its dedicated staff.
