This job opening is for the position of Room Attendant, reporting directly to the Housekeeping Manager. The role is ideal for an experienced, energetic individual who is empowered to take initiative and provide ongoing support to the housekeeping department. The Room Attendant plays a pivotal role in maintaining guest room cleanliness and overall hotel presentation, directly impacting guest satisfaction and the hotel’s reputation.

Room Attendants at The William Vale are responsible for ensuring rooms are impeccably clean, well-maintained, and inviting. This includes tasks such as changing bed linens, making beds, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing furniture, and replenishing bathroom supplies. The role also involves handling guest interactions with professionalism and courtesy, listening attentively to their requests, and responding appropriately to enhance the guest experience. Attention to detail and adherence to the hotel’s mini bar standards and maintenance reporting protocols are also essential aspects of the job.

The position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $29.90 to $39.87, with potential increases subject to the International Workers Association (IWA) agreements. Job Requirements

  • One year experience in housekeeping or a related field
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the primary workplace language or languages
  • Capability to maintain professional and courteous interactions at all times
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks including lifting bending and standing for extended periods
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Commitment to adhere to safety standards and confidentiality policies

Job Qualifications

  • One year experience working in a housekeeping environment
  • Experience in a hotel is a plus
  • Must be able to speak read write and understand the primary language or languages used in the workplace
  • Exhibits a high level of professionalism in all interactions and situations
  • Reliable with a sense of urgency
  • Maintains a warm and friendly demeanor
  • Maintains regular attendance in compliance with scheduling standards
  • Complies with all safety and operational standards and regulations
  • Able to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Flexible to work all shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Maintains high standards of personal appearance and grooming

Job Duties

  • Greet customers listen to and understand requests respond with appropriate action and provide accurate information
  • Clean and service guest rooms including changing bed linen and making beds sweeping and mopping floors vacuum carpets and rugs empty wastepaper baskets and ashtrays transport dirty linen dust and polish surfaces and furniture replenish bathroom supplies ensure mini bar standards are upheld report any technical issues and maintenance needs
  • Return and restock cleaning cart at shift end
  • Responsible for courteous efficient response at all times
  • Perform any other duties as assigned
