The KAAM works collaboratively with the Kitchen Manager, Kitchen Assistant Manager, and Pub Manager when applicable, to maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, and customer service. This position is multifaceted, requiring hands-on participation in kitchen tasks such as prep cooking, line cooking, and dishwashing, as well as managerial duties including staff supervision, training, scheduling, payroll, and labor regulation. The KAAM plays a critical role in training and mentoring kitchen staff, promoting teamwork, and fostering a positive, respectful work environment. Effective communication with head management and team members is vital to address challenges swiftly and maintain operational excellence. Attention to detail in food portioning, product quality, and cleanliness is paramount, along with the ability to handle customer and personnel issues professionally and calmly. The position demands mental agility, problem-solving skills, and the capacity to multitask under pressure. Flexibility in scheduling is necessary, encompassing mornings, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the dynamic needs of the business. Overall, the KAAM at McMenamins is a dynamic role that blends culinary expertise with leadership and administrative responsibilities. The ideal candidate will embrace the company’s commitment to diversity, excellent customer service, and positive team collaboration.
