Job Description

This position is for a Bartender role within a hospitality environment, typically found in hotels, resorts, or upscale dining establishments. Job Requirements

  • Must obtain and maintain appropriate licensing with the Alcohol Awareness Card
  • Previous bartending experience or equivalent combination of education and training
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50lbs
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Knowledge of applicable alcohol service laws and responsible serving practices

Job Qualifications

  • Previous bartending experience required or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Knowledge of serving alcohol with care and menu products
  • Superior knowledge of applicable laws and regulations in regard to alcohol service
  • Ability to operate a glassware washing machine and to re-fill ice bins and beer bins, utilize ice machines, change kegs, and transport the empty kegs to designated areas
  • Candidate must be able to communicate in English, both in written and oral form
  • Ability of simple reading, math, writing and task completion skills is required
  • Must have skills in compiling, coordination, following instructions, influencing others, memorization, problem solving, independent judgment, and decision making
  • Must be flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age

Job Duties

  • Prepare and provide proper and professional beverage service to all guests and cocktail staff in a friendly, courteous and timely manner
  • Input and ring-up charges for guest’s orders using the POS system
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of guest areas and equipment at all times including removing empty glasses/bottles, cleaning ashtrays, emptying garbage, sweeping/mopping floors, scrubbing/sanitizing equipment
  • Maintain proper and adequate set-up of bar on a daily basis including before, after and during shift
  • Refill chemicals, hand soap containers, refill ice and beer bins, utilizing ice making machines
  • Listen and respond to guest inquiries using a positive, clear speaking voice
  • Make constant contact with both internal and external guests to provide optimal guest service
  • Make recommendations to guests, offer beverages with ordered meal
  • Assist the management team with orders and inventory as needed
  • Any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position
