The CHEF'STORE Sales Associate plays a vital role within this dynamic retail environment, embodying the US Foods strategy: Great Food, Made Easy. This position is designed for individuals passionate about customer service who excel in a fast-paced retail setting. The Sales Associate acts as a multi-functional team member, responsible for roles including Cashier, Stocker, and Customer Courtesy. The role requires flexibility as associates may be assigned to various store departments such as the front end for sales and cashier duties, the Meat/Frozen and Produce/Dairy departments, Dry Goods, as well as Culinary Equipment & Supply departments. Associates ensure the store remains stocked, visually appealing, and organized, while maintaining accurate product rotation and pricing. They also support inventory counts and special store events like vendor fairs and sales floor resets.
The position demands a strong commitment to customer satisfaction and operational excellence. Associates engage directly with customers, providing fast, efficient, and professional service, while also supporting store management in maintaining safety, cleanliness, and compliance with policies. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 6-12 months retail cashier or stocking experience
- Ability to deliver exceptional customer service
- Flexibility to work Monday through Sunday between 5:00 am and 7:00 pm
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, lifting up to 100 lbs, pushing, pulling, climbing, stooping, bending, twisting, and manual dexterity
- Basic computer skills
- Cash handling experience
- Motivation to work independently and with a team
- Availability to work holidays and weekends
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 6-12 months retail cashier or stocking experience
- Minimum one year retail selling or customer service experience preferred
- Ability to deliver exceptional customer service
- Strong common sense and logical thinking
- Basic mathematical aptitude
- Motivated and self-driven with multitasking and prioritizing skills

- Basic computer skills including POS and office equipment proficiency

Job Duties
- Ensure all customers have an impeccable CHEF'STORE experience by developing and maximizing relationships with customers
- Perform sales and cash functions in the POS including scanning merchandise, weighing products, and accurate barcode management
- Conduct cart-to-cart transfer of products and visual inspections at checkout
- Verify cart content versus purchases as receipt checker
- Perform store opening and closing functions at the front end
- Assist in receiving inventory shipments and stocking shelves with proper rotation
- Ensure all merchandise is properly labeled including blaster tagging and applying catch weight and PLU tags
- Replenish sales floor daily ensuring FIFO stocking
- Assist with price changes as directed by Pricing Lead
- Participate in inventory and cycle counts
- Maintain facility cleanliness and safety standards
- Gather carts and maintain operability and cleanliness
- Assist during special store events such as vendor fairs and sales floor resets
