This unique store will build on the signature shopping experience that Bass Pro Shops is famous for, combining state-of-the-art retail with interactive elements, educational offerings, and a deep commitment to conservation. Customers visiting this location will enjoy a wide range of products and services designed to inspire and support their outdoor pursuits while participating in a larger celebration of New Jersey’s culture and heritage.
The Sales Outfitter position at Bass Pro Shops is a key role within this exciting new retail environment. This role is focused on providing exceptional customer service and sales support to ensure every customer has a memorable shopping experience. The Sales Outfitter is responsible for greeting customers warmly, assisting them with product information and recommendations, and maintaining a neat and well-stocked sales floor. This position plays a crucial part in upholding the company’s reputation for trustworthy and knowledgeable service.
The role requires individuals who are passionate about outdoor products and knowledgeable about the merchandise they sell. The Sales Outfitter engages with customers to understand their needs, provides expert advice, and helps customers make informed purchasing decisions. In addition to sales, the role includes duties such as restocking merchandise, coordinating seasonal displays, and maintaining pricing and signage according to company guidelines.

Employment for this position is full-time with a starting pay rate ranging from $17.00 to $19.75 per hour. Job Requirements
- High school education or equivalent experience
- Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change
- Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to operate computerized point of sale register system
- Ability to stand and/or walk constantly during shift
- Ability to occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, ramps
- Ability to occasionally repeat motions with wrists, hands, and fingers
- Ability to occasionally operate machinery or power tools
- Ability to occasionally operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 100 pounds with team assistance
- Willingness to work in tight, noisy, or confined spaces when needed
Job Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of outdoor products and merchandise
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to operate computerized point of sale register system
- Customer service skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers

Job Duties
- Greet and acknowledge all customers in a friendly and prompt manner
- Handle merchandise with care
- Provide product information, assistance, and direction to customers
- Demonstrate products to customers
- Replenish product on shelves per merchandising guidelines
- Maintain pricing and signage
- Assist with seasonal floor merchandise moves
- Keep work area clean, neat, and well stocked
- Follow all company policies and procedures
- Assist customers in making buying decisions by identifying and evaluating their needs
- Make product recommendations
- Promote programs including CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up
- Perform other duties as assigned
