Using proven sales principles, this role proactively engages customers to accurately assess their needs, ensure satisfaction, and drive overall store profitability. This position also involves cultivating positive customer relationships and fostering a customer-centric environment both in-store and within the local community. The Retail Team Lead is instrumental in supporting and enhancing the store's visual merchandising, freight and logistics processes, and maintaining high standards of client satisfaction.
In addition to sales and client engagement, this role carries significant leadership responsibilities. The Retail Team Lead functions as a part-time Key Carrier, entrusted with store opening and closing duties, ensuring security and operational compliance. They may assume Leader on Duty responsibilities when managers are not present, emphasizing accountability for safety, loss prevention, cash handling, and store operations. Their commitment extends to coaching and training associates, supporting community outreach programs, and driving initiatives aimed at improving sales metrics such as Average Order Value and customer satisfaction scores.
This role requires a strong blend of sales ability, customer focus, operational attention to detail, and leadership. Candidates should demonstrate advanced interpersonal skills, adaptability to a dynamic environment, integrity, and a proactive mindset geared towards continuous learning and achieving results. Office Depot offers a competitive wage, benefits including a 401(k) plan, and numerous growth opportunities within their organization, making this role attractive for individuals seeking a rewarding part-time retail leadership position.
