Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Six years experience in food and beverage, culinary, event management, or related professional area
- OR two-year degree from an accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
- Four years experience in food and beverage, culinary, event management, or related professional area
- Strong customer service skills
- Knowledge of economic and accounting principles
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities
- Proven leadership and management experience
- Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to manage budgets and control expenses
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Availability to work full time
- Willingness to lead and mentor a diverse team
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with six years of experience in food and beverage, culinary, event management, or related area
- OR two-year degree from an accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major with four years of experience
- Knowledge of customer and personal service principles and processes
- Understanding of economic and accounting principles including P&L statements and operating budgets
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Experience in managing financial resources effectively
- Thorough knowledge of business and management principles including strategic planning and leadership
- Understanding of market dynamics and enterprise objectives
- Knowledge of food production, presentation, storage, handling techniques, and sanitation standards
- Experience in managing material resources such as equipment and facilities
Job Duties
- Manage all restaurant operations and staff on a daily basis
- Direct and collaborate with food and beverage and culinary management teams
- Strive to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction
- Maximize financial performance through budget management and cost control
- Estimate food, liquor, wine, and other beverage consumption for purchasing
- Facilitate pre-meal briefings to educate restaurant staff on menu items
- Maintain service and sanitation standards in all food and beverage areas
- Oversee booking and service of restaurant parties and special events
- Manage department’s controllable expenses to meet or exceed goals
- Establish goals to guide operation and performance
- Lead, influence, and encourage team members using interpersonal skills
- Build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members
- Serve as a role model for excellent customer service
- Develop strategies to improve profit and explore new business opportunities
- Coach and mentor employees to enhance their skills
- Ensure cash and liquor control procedures are followed
- Train and supervise staff to comply with food handling and sanitation standards
- Ensure staff understands all applicable liquor laws
- Respond effectively to guest problems and complaints
- Conduct performance appraisals and communicate performance expectations
- Interview and hire management and hourly employees
- Communicate and update executives, peers, and subordinates on relevant information
- Analyze information to solve problems and choose the best solutions
