As a Restaurant Server at Neiman Marcus, you will play a pivotal role in delivering the Neiman Marcus dining experience which aligns with the brand’s reputation for luxury and impeccable customer service. This position involves providing warm, sophisticated hospitality combined with comprehensive menu knowledge and flawless table service. The Restaurant Server acts as the face of the dining experience, ensuring that each guest enjoys a premium and memorable meal through attentive, professional, and highly skilled service. Responsibilities extend beyond basic service to include expertise in the food menu, beverage pairings, maintenance of station operations, and strict adherence to luxury standards in personal presentation and financial integrity. The role demands excellent multitasking skills and grace under pressure to manage table pacing and timely interactions with guests in line with the brand’s elevated service guidelines.

This is a physically active role requiring stamina and flexibility, as well as a commitment to maintaining a polished appearance and exemplary hygiene standards to support food safety and luxury brand expectations. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, alongside proven experience in upscale dining environments where strict table service and luxury hospitality standards are maintained. The ideal candidate will have profound knowledge of culinary and beverage terminology, excellent interpersonal skills to engage with an affluent clientele, and a collaborative spirit to contribute to a team-oriented work culture.

Job Duties

  • Manage table pacing and interact with guests in a highly attentive, professional, and sophisticated manner
  • Utilize comprehensive menu knowledge to describe dishes, articulate daily specials, and handle dietary restrictions
  • Offer tailored beverage pairings using knowledge of premium wine, beer, and spirits
  • Execute all pre-shift, post-shift, daily, and weekly side-work duties as assigned
  • Follow strict brand guidelines for table settings including placement of fine china, luxury glassware, and flatware
  • Clean, sanitize, and maintain server workstations and dining areas to ensure cleanliness
  • Adhere to accounting procedures for guest transactions and accurately manage payment methods within the POS system
  • Participate in daily pre-shift meetings to review covers, VIP reservations, and culinary updates
  • Maintain highest personal hygiene and presentation standards including uniform and grooming
  • Arrive on time, dressed properly, and prepared with necessary tools for shift
  • Accurately punch in/out and coordinate meal breaks and schedule changes with management
