Job Description
CO-OP Restaurant & Lounge, nestled within The Study at University City in Philadelphia, PA, is a vibrant dining establishment renowned for its spirited hospitality and seasonal menus. This lively 120-seat restaurant and lounge forms a pivotal part of the hotel's dynamic hospitality offering. The Study at University City itself is a well-established 212-room hotel located strategically at the intersection of the University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University. Designed to blend thoughtful hospitality with contemporary residential-inspired guest rooms and welcoming public spaces, the hotel serves both university functions and corporate events with its 7,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
We are seeking motivated and energetic individuals to join our front-of-house team as Restaurant Support team members, focusing on the roles of Runner and Busser. This position plays a crucial role in supporting overall restaurant operations by assisting servers, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring an efficient and seamless guest experience. The ideal candidate is someone who is detail-oriented, able to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and dedicated to delivering attentive guest service. Our team members take pride in their commitment to teamwork, efficiency, and creating an inviting dining atmosphere for every guest.
The Restaurant Support role encompasses various responsibilities, from clearing and resetting tables to delivering food and beverages accurately and promptly to guests. It also includes maintaining the organization and cleanliness of dining and service areas, completing designated side work tasks such as polishing glassware and silverware, restocking supplies, and supporting host teams with greeting and seating duties as needed. Furthermore, team members contribute to room service and to-go order delivery and maintain awareness of VIP guests and special requests, ensuring high service standards are met consistently.
This position requires working flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, demanding a positive and professional attitude at all times. Team members benefit from a supportive and inclusive workplace culture where guest service is the highest priority. Being part of Study Hotels means joining a drug-free workplace with a commitment to equal employment opportunities for all individuals without regard to age, race, religion, disability, nationality, sex, sexual orientation, or any other protected category.
Eligible full-time employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, participation in a 401(k) retirement savings plan, and access to an Employee Assistance Program. The role mandates the passing of a pre-employment drug test and background check to ensure a safe working environment. If you have a passion for the hospitality industry and thrive in a team-oriented environment, CO-OP Restaurant & Lounge within The Study at University City offers an excellent opportunity to grow and succeed.
