The Food Outlet Supervisor role at Sandia Resort and Casino is pivotal to ensuring the seamless operation and success of one of the casino's numerous food and beverage outlets. This supervisory position requires a leader who dedicates a minimum of 90% of their time on the floor, actively engaging with guests and coaching employees to provide outstanding service. The supervisor will oversee day-to-day operations during their assigned shift, maintaining service levels aligned with forecasted needs and daily business volumes. Key responsibilities include direct interaction with guests to solicit feedback, resolve issues before departure, and uphold consistent food quality, presentation, and service standards. Additionally, the supervisor maintains a clean, safe, organized, and comfortable environment for both employees and guests, fostering a positive and supportive workplace culture.
This role requires someone who can enforce all regulatory internal controls, policies, and procedures strictly, including the use of progressive discipline when necessary. Maintaining adherence to appearance and uniform guidelines is also essential. Supervisory duties extend to facilitating daily stand-up meetings, providing clear direction, coaching, and training to staff while managing scheduling to optimize operations during peak periods. The role also involves collaboration with other departments and management to ensure coordinated efforts and smooth service delivery.
The Food Outlet Supervisor must ensure compliance with health and safety standards, verifying that all food and beverage offerings meet established standards including temperature regulation and proper maintenance of service equipment. They are responsible for the security of funds and ensuring proper procedures around cash register use and cash handling. The role demands excellent communication skills, leadership ability, and a customer-centric mindset to anticipate guest needs and foster loyalty and repeat business.
Candidates for this position should have at least a high school diploma or GED, with a minimum of one year of supervisory experience and two years in a restaurant or food service capacity. The successful candidate must pass a background check, drug screening, and complete required licenses such as the New Mexico Food Handler’s course and Alcohol Server’s License. Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting, and other movements necessary to perform job functions effectively.
