Job Description

Shake Shack is a leading hospitality brand that originated from a humble hot dog cart in New York City’s Madison Square Park. Founded by Danny Meyer, the founder and CEO of Union Square Hospitality Group and the best-selling author of Setting the Table, Shake Shack has grown into one of the fastest-growing and most beloved restaurant chains. Originally built on community spirit by donating all proceeds back to park beautification, Shake Shack has evolved while maintaining its commitment to high-quality food, exceptional hospitality, and social responsibility.

Shake Shack’s strong roots in fine dining and community service reflect its philosophy to “Stand For Something Good.” This philosophy is evident in their dedication to both guests and employees, fostering a positive work environment that emphasizes learning, growth, mentorship, and inclusivity. The company encourages a culture where employees, known as the #ShackFam, can thrive through hands-on training and career development opportunities.

The role of the Restaurant Manager at Shake Shack is critical for maintaining superior service and operational excellence across their rapidly expanding locations. As a Restaurant Manager, you will oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring that guests receive an unforgettable experience marked by high standards of hospitality. This position requires strong leadership skills to train, motivate, and manage team members effectively while promoting a collaborative and fun work atmosphere. You will be responsible for operational compliance, including sanitation and safety, while developing strategies to engage the local community and enhance brand presence through events and word-of-mouth promotion.

The Restaurant Manager role demands proficiency in overseeing high-volume, fast-paced restaurant environments, with specific knowledge of personnel management, food preparation, purchasing, and health code compliance. Financial acumen is also required, as you will be expected to understand and influence the business’s financial performance. The position offers competitive pay ranging from $27.90 to $34.40 per hour, along with quarterly performance bonuses, and includes comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) plans with company match, and paid time off. The company values flexible working hours and offers award-winning online training along with charitable opportunities and career advancement as part of its commitment to employee development and satisfaction.

In joining Shake Shack, you become part of a dynamic and rapidly growing hospitality team dedicated not only to delivering quality food but also to making a positive impact within the community. Shake Shack provides an inclusive environment where individual voices are encouraged, teamwork is celebrated, and innovation is nurtured. This is more than a job; it is a chance to be part of a transformative hospitality brand that truly cares about its people and the communities it serves.
