Job Description

Shake Shack is a leading fast-casual restaurant brand that has its roots deeply embedded in New York City, originally starting as a humble hot dog cart in Madison Square Park. The company was founded by Danny Meyer, a renowned restaurateur and the CEO of Union Square Hospitality Group, who is also the author of the bestselling book Setting the Table. From its inception, Shake Shack has been committed to quality, community, and sustainability, donating all initial proceeds back to the park’s beautification. Since then, it has expanded rapidly to become one of the most beloved and fastest-growing hospitality brands globally, known for its high-quality food and commitment to exceptional hospitality.

At Shake Shack, the mission is simple yet powerful: Stand For Something Good. This philosophy permeates every aspect of the company’s culture—from the way they treat their staff, referred to as the #ShackFam, to how they engage and support their local communities. The company places a great emphasis on creating an inclusive and fun work environment filled with opportunities for personal and professional growth. Through hands-on mentorship, extensive training programs, and meaningful engagement, employees are empowered to grow their careers, contribute to a positive guest experience, and impact the broader business and community.

This particular position is for a Shift Manager role located at the SanTan Village in Gilbert, Arizona. This is a full-time opportunity to join a dynamic team and play a vital role in managing day-to-day restaurant operations. The Shift Manager at Shake Shack is entrusted with ensuring the smooth flow of service during their shift, directing the efforts of the hourly team members to maintain the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, food quality, and speed of service. This leader not only hands-on manages operational aspects but also contributes to building and nurturing a high-performing team. Responsibilities may extend to operational support functions such as purchasing, receiving, and inventory management, as well as participating in hiring processes and assisting with employee relations.

Candidates for this role should expect to be part of a fast-paced, guest-focused environment that is dedicated to delivering memorable experiences. The position provides competitive compensation and a comprehensive suite of benefits designed to support employees’ well-being and professional development. Benefits include weekly pay, performance bonuses tied to goal achievement, medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid time off and parental leave, and various other perks including exclusive corporate discounts and career development opportunities. Shake Shack is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer, fostering diversity and inclusion within the workplace and beyond, ensuring every team member is valued regardless of their background or identity.

In summary, this role presents an exciting opportunity to join a celebrated restaurant brand known for leading the way in hospitality innovation and community engagement. A Shift Manager at Shake Shack is instrumental in driving operational excellence, fostering a positive team culture, and ensuring guests receive the best possible experience each time they visit. This is more than a management role—it is a chance to be part of a purpose-driven company that truly stands for something good and offers a supportive environment for growth and success.
