Job Description

Shake Shack is a leading hospitality company that began its journey as a humble hot dog cart in New York City’s Madison Square Park. Founded by Danny Meyer, the CEO of Union Square Hospitality Group and author of "Setting the Table," Shake Shack has grown into one of the fastest-growing and most beloved hospitality brands worldwide. The company's foundation is built on high-quality food, exceptional hospitality, and a strong commitment to community welfare, reflected in their original practice of donating all proceeds back to park beautification. Today, Shake Shack operates permanent stands and restaurants providing guests with a unique dining experience characterized by excellent service and a welcoming atmosphere. The company prides itself on fostering an inclusive, people-centered culture, emphasizing learning, mentorship, and career growth opportunities for its employees, also known as the #ShackFam. Shake Shack stands for doing the right thing in all its actions, making it more than just a restaurant — it's a place where team members can build meaningful careers and contribute positively to their communities.

The role available is that of a Shift Manager, a pivotal position in ensuring the highest levels of safety, cleanliness, quality, and efficiency during service hours. The Shift Manager oversees the flow of service, directs the work of hourly team members during shifts, and helps build and lead high-performing restaurant teams. This role requires strong leadership skills to effectively manage operations, foster a collaborative environment, and maintain a commitment to excellent guest experiences. Additionally, Shift Managers may participate in operational support functions such as purchasing, receiving, and inventory management, along with involvement in recruiting and employee relations. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, supportive workplace where hands-on mentorship and training are prioritized for career advancement. Shake Shack provides competitive weekly pay, performance bonuses, and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid time off, and more. This role is ideal for individuals with at least one year of restaurant leadership experience seeking to join an organization dedicated to standing for something good and creating unforgettable experiences for both guests and employees.
