Job Description
Shake Shack is a renowned hospitality brand that originated from a simple hot dog cart in New York City's Madison Square Park. Founded by Danny Meyer, the CEO of Union Square Hospitality Group and best-selling author of Setting the Table, Shake Shack has grown into one of the fastest-growing restaurant companies known for its commitment to quality, community, and hospitality. What began as a local endeavor to support the beautification of Madison Square Park has evolved into a global phenomenon, where every meal served reflects the brand's core mission to Stand For Something Good. This means prioritizing people, culture, and sustainability while delivering exceptional dining experiences that delight guests across all locations.
As a hospitality company, Shake Shack combines the art of fine dining with a focus on casual, accessible meals, ensuring that each guest feels valued and cared for. The company’s philosophy centers around putting its people first by fostering inclusive, fun, and supportive work environments where every team member, or #ShackFam, can thrive. Employees receive hands-on mentorship, ample training opportunities, and clear paths for personal and professional growth. Shake Shack emphasizes leadership development, innovation, and community engagement to continuously improve its operations and social impact. The brand’s commitment to standing for something good extends beyond its food to encompass employee well-being, environmental sustainability, and active charitable involvement.
The role offered is a leadership position responsible for managing and directing team members during operational shifts to ensure safety, cleanliness, food quality, and efficient service. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the high standards Shake Shack is known for by overseeing the flow of service, supporting team development, and assisting in operational functions such as purchasing, receiving, and inventory control. Additionally, the role involves participating in applicant interviews and employee relations, helping to build a strong, high-performing team. This position requires excellent communication and problem-solving skills, along with food safety knowledge relevant to local regulations. It provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to an energetic, fast-paced environment while advancing your leadership career within a respected, purpose-driven hospitality group.
Shake Shack offers competitive compensation including weekly pay and performance bonuses tied to achieving goals. Comprehensive benefits support employee health and well-being such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, supplemental life insurance, and short-term disability coverage (eligibility criteria apply). Additional offerings include a 401(k) plan with company match, paid time off including sick time, paid parental leave, commuter benefits, exclusive corporate discounts, meal discounts, employee resource groups, and various charitable giving opportunities. This role is perfect for someone passionate about hospitality leadership, team building, and driving operational excellence in an inclusive, values-driven company dedicated to making a positive impact in its communities and beyond.
