The role of a Shift Leader at Whataburger is pivotal to the smooth operation and overall success of the restaurant. As a Shift Leader, you will be the driving force that ensures every shift runs efficiently and meets the highest operational standards. This leadership position requires balancing hands-on management with team coaching, operational oversight, and customer service excellence. The Shift Leader is responsible for leading shift operations, maintaining quality, service, and cleanliness standards, and motivating Family Members to excel in their roles. You will work closely with the Restaurant Manager team to sharpen your leadership skills, build management capabilities, and strengthen the operational foundation of the restaurant. In this role, you will also support goals related to food cost, labor cost, sales performance, and inventory management while upholding strict food safety and compliance standards.

Job Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age
- possess a high school diploma or GED preferred or equivalent experience
- be able to meet business needs with open availability including overnights, weekends, holidays, variable hours
- maintain dependable attendance
- have ability to stand for up to 10 hours
- lift up to 55 lbs
- meet physical demands
- have experience coaching or leading teams
- strong customer service, communication, and multitasking skills
- possess ServSafe Food Certification or ability to successfully obtain and pass the exam during training
