Job Description

Whataburger is a beloved American fast-food restaurant chain known for its commitment to quality, community, and exceptional customer service. Established in 1950, Whataburger has grown from a single restaurant in Texas to a widespread brand recognized for its iconic burgers, friendly atmosphere, and strong sense of family among employees. The company prides itself on being more than just a place to grab a quick meal; it is a launching ground for leadership and professional development, with a strong emphasis on fostering growth, teamwork, and a positive workplace culture. Whataburger offers a comprehensive benefits package that supports its employees' health, education, and overall well-being, highlighting its dedication to nurturing long-term career opportunities and life balance.

The Shift Leader role at Whataburger is a critical position that sparks operational excellence and ensures a smooth, efficient dining experience during every shift. Serving as a frontline leader, the Shift Leader coaches and motivates Family Members to develop their skills, maintain high standards of quality, service, and cleanliness, and meets food safety and compliance guidelines. This role is designed for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy collaborative teamwork, and want to grow their leadership capabilities. Shift Leaders work closely with Restaurant Managers to sharpen their skills and contribute to the restaurant's success by managing labor costs, food costs, inventory processes, and sales goals. Empathy, communication, and motivational skills are vital as Shift Leaders help bring out the best in their teams, turning challenges into opportunities and creating a positive and energizing environment for staff and customers alike.

Whataburger offers competitive weekly pay, flexible scheduling options including day, night, evening, and overnight shifts, paid time off, and a 401(k) plan with a dollar-for-dollar match up to 4%. Employees also benefit from comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, alongside short-term and long-term disability coverage. The company invests heavily in education support through free English language learning, no-cost college courses, and reduced tuition degree pathways, along with scholarship programs and hardship grants through the Whataburger Family Foundation. Additional perks include discounted meals, wireless service, computer and software discounts, gym memberships, and recognition programs that celebrate employee contributions. Whether you are starting your journey or ready to advance your career, Whataburger provides a supportive platform to build your leadership skills and achieve your professional goals.
