Job Description

Zaxbys is currently expanding its team and is inviting passionate individuals to join as Shift Leaders. This role offers an excellent hourly wage ranging from $17.00 to $18.00, along with a training completion bonus of $750 paid in two installments. As a Shift Leader at Zaxbys, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations, ensuring that each shift runs smoothly and efficiently. Your responsibilities will encompass not just managing the restaurant operations but also leading and developing a strong team dedicated to delivering outstanding guest experiences.

The Shift Leader will be instrumental in setting shift goals, delegating tasks, and ensuring all processes align with company policies and standards. You will act as a mentor and coach to team members, fostering a positive work environment that promotes high performance and teamwork. This role requires a balance of leadership skills and hands-on operational management, from managing food safety and quality to resolving guest complaints with professionalism and empathy.

Job Duties

  • Complete all training requirements including Zaxbys Shift Leader Development Plan, Food Safety Certification, any additional training required by Zax LLC
  • create a culture of high-performance and train and coach team members to meet all company standards
  • mentor, coach and develop team members and communicate performance concerns to your General Manager
  • prioritize the guest and team member experience and resolve complaints and concerns in friendly and respectful manner
  • create and maintain a positive culture and healthy team morale through recognition and leading by example
  • communicate shift goals and motivate team members to meet goals and perform to their highest ability level
  • delegate tasks to team members and supervise performance during a shift
  • maintain operational standards and ensure compliance with all Zaxbys Franchising LLC and Zax LLC guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • ensure service, product quality, and cleanliness standards are consistently upheld
  • enhance guest experiences by ensuring that team members satisfy and exceed guest expectations
  • receive and reconcile truck deliveries, ensure product is properly stocked, and complete daily inventory counts
  • manage food production and quality by monitoring prepping, cooking, and holding processes and taking corrective action when necessary
  • track food safety and quality throughout the shift and ensure guests receive accurate orders that meet company standards and guests’ satisfaction
  • plan shift duties and ensure opening and closing duties are complete
  • collaborate with management team to develop goals and report back to management on goal progress
  • ensure processes, policies, and procedures are properly followed throughout daily operations
  • follow company cash management policies
  • maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws and guidelines
  • utilize management tools and keep neat, accurate and current records
  • maintain an attitude of flexibility that allows performance above and beyond the parameters of this position description
  • ensure the team works safely and follows all safety guidelines and procedures
  • immediately report all human resources and risk management concerns to your General Manager and District Manager
  • escalate other concerns to your supervisor when appropriate
  • perform all other duties necessary to ensure restaurant operations function properly
