Job Description
Hilton is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, renowned for operating a diverse portfolio of lodging options ranging from luxurious full-service hotels and resorts to extended-stay suites and mid-priced hotels. Established nearly a century ago, Hilton has consistently delivered exceptional accommodation, service, amenities, and value to both business and leisure travelers worldwide. The company is committed to maintaining its legacy of excellence and innovation in hospitality, constantly striving to provide guests with memorable experiences across its extensive network of global brands. Hilton's vision - "to fill the earth with the light and warmth of hospitality" - is a unifying force that inspires its team members to create remarkable experiences every day, making the company's workforce its most valuable asset. Hilton fosters a collaborative environment where team members are empowered to uphold the highest standards of service and professionalism, contributing to a culture that values integrity, respect, and dedication to guest satisfaction.
The Food and Beverage Server role at Hilton is a vital position that directly contributes to the hotel’s reputation for outstanding guest service. The server is responsible for taking and processing food and beverage orders according to hotel standards, ensuring the timely, sanitary, and complete delivery of orders either through direct guest interaction or telephone communication. Utilizing the Food & Beverage Point of Sale System, servers handle payment methods including cash, credit card, and room charges, maintaining precision and security at all times. Attentiveness to guest needs, clear and courteous communication, and a professional appearance are essential components of the role. Servers at Hilton are expected to be knowledgeable about menus, ingredients, and cooking methods to assist guests effectively.
Moreover, this role involves setting up trays, tables, and meeting or banquet rooms with necessary condiments and service items, maintaining a neat and orderly environment in food and beverage areas, and executing various pre- and post-function tasks to support banquet and restaurant operations. Flexibility is key, as servers may assist across different service areas including lounges, banquets, and restaurant settings. Hilton emphasizes comprehensive training, requiring servers to become proficient in multiple service areas within a 30-day period, with certification based on practical assessments. This commitment to thorough training ensures that servers deliver consistent, high-quality service.
Physical stamina and the ability to perform consistent mental and visual attention are necessary, as the role involves standing, walking, lifting up to 20 pounds, and other physical activities throughout the shift. The server must adhere to strict safety protocols, including maintaining a clean and pressed uniform and wearing non-slip shoes. Hilton also expects servers to embody the company’s core values by demonstrating punctuality, reliability, personal integrity, and respect for guest security and team safety. Working conditions include busy kitchen and dining room environments, sometimes involving exposure to hot tools and variable weather conditions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a respected global hospitality brand, where dedication and excellent service are recognized and rewarded.
