Currently, SSP America is hiring Servers to work inside the Indianapolis International Airport. This position is key within the guest service framework, responsible for ensuring travelers receive a welcoming, efficient, and pleasant dining experience as they pass through the airport. Servers at SSP America not only take orders and serve food and beverages but also contribute significantly to creating a positive atmosphere through excellent communication and attentive service. The role offers predictable schedules, with most restaurant locations closing by 9 PM, and an hourly wage starting at $6 plus tips, with an average earning potential of up to $25 or more per hour. Benefits include 90% paid medical and vision premiums, 100% paid life insurance and vision premiums, paid holidays with extra pay, and opportunities for career development and advancement within the company.

As a Server, you will handle various tasks such as greeting guests, answering questions about the menu, accurately inputting orders into the point-of-sale (POS) system, and preparing dishes for service—activities including ladling soup, tossing salads, cutting desserts, and brewing coffee. You will also monitor guests to anticipate their needs, clear tables efficiently, manage billing transactions, and ensure the cleanliness and readiness of dining areas throughout service. The position requires physical stamina to stand and work in confined spaces for extended periods, alongside the ability to interact comfortably and effectively with a diverse customer base.

Candidates should have at least one year of restaurant serving experience and a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. The job demands proficient verbal and written communication skills in English, the ability to handle customer service challenges with professionalism, and basic math skills necessary for managing cash register operations, making change, and reconciling payments. Additionally, job-specific certifications such as a food handler's permit and brand certification are necessary as per legal and company standards. SSP America is committed to equal employment opportunities and will accommodate applicants as required by applicable laws, ensuring a fair and supportive hiring process for all individuals.
