The Restaurant Server role at Neiman Marcus is designed for individuals passionate about hospitality and luxury service, where professionalism, attentiveness, and warm customer interaction are paramount. Serving customers within the opulent dining areas of Neiman Marcus stores, the Restaurant Server is expected to embody the elevated standards set by the brand. This position requires thorough knowledge of food menus, including culinary terminology, and expertise in wines, beers, and spirits to provide customers with detailed information and a memorable dining experience. The role involves managing assigned sections, participating in daily pre-shift meetings, and adhering strictly to all accounting processes, including usage of the POS system for transactions. In addition to serving, the Restaurant Server is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the restaurant and workstations, ensuring impeccable hygiene standards, and adhering to schedule integrity with respect to clocking in and out and managing breaks appropriately. Physical duties such as lifting tables and chairs are also part of the job description, reflecting the dynamic and hands-on nature of this hospitality role. The position offers a flexible work schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts to meet business needs. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Experience in serving food and beverage and following proper table service guidelines
- Ability to work autonomously
- Motivated and results-driven
- Thorough knowledge of order of service and proper placement of table settings including china, glass, flatware
- Thorough knowledge of food, including preparation and culinary terminology
- Ability to interact graciously with the public and handle multiple duties at the same time
- Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills
- Ability to stand, bend, climb stairs, and lift and carry 35 pounds
- Willing to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties
- Serves assigned seating section of dining area in a professional and gracious manner
- Utilizes thorough knowledge of food, including preparation and culinary terminology, to provide detailed information to customers about menu items
- Leverages knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits, including technical and service procedures
- Interacts graciously with the public and handles multiple duties at the same time
- Participates in daily pre-shift meeting
- Adheres to established accounting procedures for all transactions, including all authorized methods of payment, and maintains knowledge of the POS system
- Executes pre-shift, post-shift, and daily and weekly duties as assigned by supervisor
- Fulfills duties that may involve lifting objects e.g., tables, chairs, highchairs
- Cleans and maintains restaurant and workstation
- Maintains the highest level of hygiene standards, including clean uniform and personally well-groomed appearance
- Exercises integrity with scheduling, including punching in and out properly
- Coordinates holiday, vacation, and time off with management while considering restaurant needs
