As a Food Runner at 21c Museum Hotels, you become an essential part of this distinct experience, acting as the crucial link between the kitchen and guests. Reporting directly to the Restaurant Manager, this role is pivotal in ensuring that each meal reaches the patron promptly and in pristine condition. The Food Runner holds the responsibility of being the last set of eyes on every dish before it is presented, necessitating careful attention to detail, strong familiarity with the menu, and a dedication to quality. In this role, your duties extend beyond food delivery to include supporting servers and bussers by helping with table setups, clearing, and maintaining the service area, ensuring everything is polished and orderly. Flexibility is important, as this position requires adaptability to varied shifts, including nights and weekends. Physical stamina and strength are prerequisites, as the job involves prolonged standing, walking, carrying trays, and lifting loads up to 50 pounds.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment beneficial
  • Must be able to carry full service tray comfortably
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • Must pass a background check

Job Duties

  • Deliver food from kitchen to dining room tables in a timely, accurate manner
  • Assist servers with preparation of tables, service station, and coffee station
  • Assist servers and bussers with table clearing and side work
  • Communicate between kitchen and servers regarding the status of each table and delivery of food
  • Assist supervisor and chefs with any assigned tasks
  • Polish silverware and complete all sidework as outlined in manual
  • Maintain a positive, friendly attitude with co-workers and guests
