The role of Restaurant Manager at Whataburger is a dynamic and impactful leadership position. As a Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for managing a high-volume restaurant generating over $4 million in annual sales with a team size typically exceeding fifty Family Members. This role requires you to create and sustain an environment where great food, excellent service, and effective teamwork come together effectively every day. You will rotate through key areas of responsibility including Customer Service, Quality, and People Management to develop well-rounded leadership skills that prepare you for future growth opportunities, such as becoming an Operating Partner.

As a Restaurant Manager, your primary objective is to drive operational performance to meet and exceed sales, labor, food cost, and profitability goals. You will lead daily restaurant operations, ensuring that quality, service, cleanliness, and food safety standards are upheld consistently. You will champion Whataburger's hospitality and guest service standards by crafting experiences that are friendly, fast, and authentically aligned with the brand. A significant aspect of your role involves coaching, developing, and supporting Family Members to help them reach their full potential, fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture. You will also lead shift transitions, manage smooth daily operations, and collaborate with your leadership team on hiring, training, talent development, and retention strategies. Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess a high school diploma or GED strongly preferred or equivalent experience
  • Be able to meet business needs and have open availability, including overnights, weekends, holidays, variable hours, and maintain dependable attendance
  • Have ability to stand up to 10 hours, lift up to 55 lbs., and meet physical demands
  • Have 1–3 years of leadership experience
  • Possess ServSafe Food Manager Certification or the ability to successfully obtain and pass the exam during training
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and maintain current automobile liability at minimum levels in your state of residence

Job Qualifications

  • Lead shift transitions and maintain smooth operations across all day parts
  • Guide talent development, training, hiring, and retention in partnership with restaurant leadership team
  • Support business planning, performance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
