The role of Restaurant Manager at Whataburger involves overseeing a high-volume restaurant with average annual sales exceeding $4 million and managing a dedicated team of more than fifty Family Members. This position is designed for a leader who is passionate about creating an environment where great food, awesome service, and strong teamwork come together every day. Restaurant Managers at Whataburger rotate through Customer, Quality, and People Areas of Responsibility to build well-rounded leadership skills and prepare for future opportunities as Operating Partners.
As a Restaurant Manager, you’ll be responsible for driving the operational performance of your store, fostering the development of your team, and partnering closely with your Operating Partner and leadership peers to achieve business goals. This role requires a hands-on leader who is willing to engage with both the front-line operations and strategic initiatives that help strengthen the restaurant’s overall success. You will lead day-to-day operations, ensure the highest standards of food safety and cleanliness, and promote the brand's core values in every aspect of your work.
Whataburger offers a competitive compensation package that includes weekly pay, a bonus program with substantial upside potential, paid time off, paid holidays, and paid parental leave. Additional benefits include 401(k) matching, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans, disability coverage, educational benefits such as scholarships and tuition reduction, and various discounts on meals, wireless services, computer software, and gym memberships. The company invests heavily in career development opportunities, emphasizing growth potential and a clear pathway to earning a six-figure income as an Operating Partner.
This career opportunity is ideal for individuals who are at least 18 years old, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and bring 1-3 years of leadership experience. Candidates should have open availability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and be physically capable of meeting the demands of the job. ServSafe Food Manager certification is required or must be obtained during training. A valid driver’s license and current automobile liability insurance are also necessary.
The position is primarily based at your assigned restaurant, where you will spend most of your time leading your team and supporting daily operations. You may occasionally assist in nearby locations or participate in broader market leadership activities. Whataburger values diversity and is committed to providing equal employment opportunities regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, age, or other protected status.
Joining Whataburger means becoming part of a team where your leadership and contributions matter. The company’s culture encourages learning, growth, and making a meaningful impact every day while moving forward boldly in your career journey.
