Job Description
Taco Bell is a leading fast-food restaurant chain specializing in Mexican-inspired cuisine, recognized for its innovative menu and vibrant brand. With thousands of locations worldwide, Taco Bell operates with a strong focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences through quality food, speed of service, and a welcoming environment. The company values operational excellence, employee development, and community engagement, creating a dynamic workplace that encourages growth and teamwork.
The Restaurant General Manager (RGM) position at Taco Bell is a vital leadership role responsible for overseeing the successful operation of an individual restaurant unit. This role entails direct supervision and leadership of all aspects of the restaurant's operation, ensuring it runs efficiently, profitably, and meets the company's high standards for cleanliness, hospitality, product quality, accuracy, and speed of service. The RGM is expected to be hands-on, engaging directly in daily operations when necessary to train employees, manage guest service, and model the behaviors and skills required for a top-tier Taco Bell location.
As the primary leader of the restaurant, the RGM must ensure that costs related to food, labor, and other controllable expenses remain within budget while striving for positive sales growth by enhancing metrics such as the company's 5 Bells performance, CORE initiatives, speed of service, and food quality standards. The role requires maintaining adequate staffing levels for all shifts through effective scheduling and recruitment, including hiring new crew members and management staff. Performance management is a key component, involving conducting performance appraisals for team members, coaching, and counseling to develop and retain a motivated workforce.
Maintaining a safe and compliant work environment is essential, with the RGM ensuring adherence to all food safety, sanitation regulations, and employment laws. Regular preventative maintenance and facility upkeep are also their responsibility to ensure a safe and inviting environment for both employees and guests. The RGM handles guest relations, addressing complaints professionally to encourage repeat business and preserve the restaurant's reputation.
Success in this role is measured by financial and operational metrics including sales performance, food and labor costs, safety audits, customer satisfaction scores, and turnover rates. The RGM must provide timely feedback to area coaches and participate in daily calls and meetings to align with organizational goals. Additionally, this role demands flexibility to work various shifts and handle fast-paced, ever-changing operational environments.
Overall, the Restaurant General Manager position at Taco Bell offers a challenging yet rewarding leadership opportunity within a well-established company that values development, high standards, and guest satisfaction. The role is perfect for individuals who thrive in dynamic settings, possess strong leadership abilities, and demonstrate a commitment to operational excellence and team development.
