The role of the Restaurant Manager within Gibsons Restaurant Group is pivotal in upholding the company’s esteemed reputation and core beliefs. Key responsibilities include maintaining effective communication across shifts, addressing customer feedback and satisfaction metrics, and driving increases in customer attendance year over year. The Restaurant Manager also plays a critical role in coordinating with corporate concierge services to attract hotel guests and meticulously tracking results to refine the customer acquisition strategy.

This position demands a hands-on approach, including engaging directly with guests by greeting them warmly and managing wait lists efficiently. The Restaurant Manager ensures that operational details such as reservation management, staff appearance, and dining area cleanliness meet the highest standards. Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
  • At least one year of experience working in a customer service role
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers both on the phone and in person
  • Basic computer skills for data entry
  • Ability to read and interpret basic documents
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in high stress situations

Job Duties

  • Communicate with the Managers and General Manager throughout each shift to maintain optimum customer experience
  • Based on Spotter Reports and Guest Surveys, among other forms of customer input, work with managers and GM to improve customers’ restaurant experience and increase their loyalty
  • Actively work to drive year over year increases in covers
  • Work with corporate concierge liaison to attract hotel guests to the restaurant
  • Track results for managers and GM
  • Meet and greet customers promptly, courteously, and graciously, addressing customers by name whenever possible
  • Assist in managing the door and maintaining the wait list, as appropriate
  • Inform customers of approximate wait time and where they can wait for a table
  • Inform customers when their table is prepared
  • Answer phones
  • manage reservations and notes in Open Table
  • take to-go orders, receive payment and bring food to customers when they arrive, as needed
  • Escort customers to tables and provide menus
  • Arrange parties or special services for customers
  • Maintain a complete working knowledge of the menus, menu ingredients, and daily specials
  • Monitor staff uniforms and appearance for cleanliness and compliance with restaurant policy
  • Circulate through the dining room and bar area making table touches and checking on customers’ experience
  • Manage customer complaints and dissatisfaction in a prompt and professional manner
  • Determine necessary adjustments
  • Inform managers of complaint and resolution with customer
  • Anticipate and respond to customers’ needs by constantly scanning the room
  • Respond properly in any dining room emergency or safety situation
  • Monitor dining room serving stations for neatness and cleanliness
  • Inspect menus and lists to ensure their condition and appearance
  • May perform other duties as assigned
