Job Description
Olive Garden is a renowned American casual dining restaurant chain specializing in Italian-American cuisine. With an expansive network of over 870 restaurants across the United States and Canada, Olive Garden prides itself on offering a welcoming dining experience that is rooted in family values, quality service, and a commitment to excellence. The brand is part of a larger hospitality group that emphasizes career growth, employee well-being, and community involvement, consistently striving to create a supportive and inclusive work environment. Olive Garden is known not just for its delectable dishes like pasta, soups, and salads but also for its vibrant culture where employees are regarded as family members, fostering acceptance, support, and strength among the team.
The position of Restaurant Manager at Olive Garden is a vibrant and integral role designed for individuals who thrive in leadership positions and have a passion for service and team development. This role requires individuals who are people-focused, results-oriented, and capable of taking initiative to lead their teams towards excellence. The Restaurant Manager is accountable for overseeing the operational aspects of the restaurant, supporting the General Manager, and driving the successful execution of day-to-day activities. The restaurant manager works in a highly collaborative environment where relationship building, flexibility, and work-life balance are prioritized.
Olive Garden offers its Restaurant Managers an attractive work-life balance with work hours capped at 50 hours per week and two days off regularly scheduled. Managers can expect to enjoy one weekend off monthly, which helps in maintaining a healthy work-life integration. Furthermore, Olive Garden supports employee development through significant specific and ongoing training opportunities, tuition reimbursement, and a clear career path that has seen 99% of General Managers and Directors of Operations promoted from within. The company offers competitive base salaries with additional quarterly bonus eligibility, providing financial incentives that recognize and reward managers for their performance.
This role also comes with an impressive benefits package that includes immediate eligibility for medical, dental, and vision insurance, company-paid short-term disability and life insurance, and discounts at numerous merchants for everyday needs including cell phones, daycare, and clothing. Olive Garden extends its commitment to its employees beyond daily work by providing vacation and flex time, paternity and maternity leave, adoption reimbursement assistance, and paid time for the care of family members after one year of service.
Employees benefit from strong retirement plans including a company 401(k) with a generous match, a retirement plus benefit of 1.5% of eligible salary contributed to the 401(k) account, and an employee stock purchase program offering shares at a discounted rate. Additionally, Olive Garden is dedicated to community involvement and social responsibility, donating millions of pounds of food to hunger relief, providing emergency grants to team members, and partnering with food banks nationwide to support local communities.
Restaurant Managers are also expected to uphold the highest standards of safety and sanitation for guests, fellow employees, and themselves, with Covid-19 protocols aligned to CDC guidelines to ensure a safe dining and working environment. Olive Garden warmly invites motivated individuals who are passionate about hospitality, leadership, teamwork, and community to join their winning family where "We’re All Family Here" and build a rewarding career in a thriving industry.
