Job Description

Olive Garden is a renowned casual dining restaurant chain specializing in Italian-American cuisine, with a rich heritage of providing warm hospitality and exceptional dining experiences. As one of the leading restaurant brands in the United States and Canada, Olive Garden operates over 870 restaurants, making it a significant player in the hospitality industry. The company values its employees as family and fosters a supportive, inclusive, and growth-oriented workplace culture. Olive Garden is committed to not only delivering quality food and service to its guests but also ensuring a positive quality of life, career development, and well-being for its employees. This commitment is reflected in the comprehensive benefits and progressive policies that the company offers to its team members.

The Restaurant Manager role at Olive Garden is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing the operations of the restaurant while promoting a people-first and results-driven mindset. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Restaurant Manager leads their team with a passion for excellent customer service, strong interpersonal skills, and a drive to excel. This role requires balancing operational responsibilities with team leadership and fostering a welcoming, family-oriented environment. Olive Garden emphasizes work-life balance, offering restaurant managers typically no more than 50 working hours per week, with two full days off and consistently at least one weekend off per month. The position provides flexibility to support the personal lives of managers, which is part of Olive Garden's dedication to quality of life.

In addition to offering competitive compensation, which varies based on location, restaurant managers at Olive Garden are eligible for quarterly bonuses. They receive immediate access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, along with company-paid short-term disability and life insurance. Olive Garden also supports ongoing education and career progression through tuition reimbursement and student loan assistance. Most notably, the company promotes career advancement from within, as evidenced by the fact that 99 percent of General Managers and Directors of Operations are promoted internally. The role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a dynamic environment, enjoy leading teams, and are committed to providing an outstanding guest experience while cultivating a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

The comprehensive benefits package also includes paid vacation and flex time from the first year of employment, offering up to three weeks of paid time off. Additional support includes paternity and maternity leave, adoption reimbursement assistance, and paid family care time after one year of service. Olive Garden is also heavily involved in community support, having donated millions of pounds of food and millions of dollars to food banks and team members through grants and assistance funds. Safety and sanitation are paramount, with policies aligned to CDC guidelines to ensure a secure environment for guests and employees alike.

Joining Olive Garden as a Restaurant Manager means becoming part of a family that values acceptance, support, and strength. It is an opportunity to grow one's career in a respected restaurant group with a strong commitment to employee welfare, career development, and community involvement.
