Job Description
Olive Garden is a renowned American casual dining restaurant chain specializing in Italian-American cuisine. Founded with a focus on hospitality and quality, Olive Garden has grown to become one of the most popular and beloved dining destinations across the United States and Canada with over 870 locations. The company prides itself on its commitment to family values, inclusion, and support, which resonate deeply with its employees and customers alike. Olive Garden’s mission emphasizes not only providing exceptional food but also creating a welcoming environment where everyone feels like part of the family. Employment at Olive Garden offers a unique blend of professional growth, community engagement, and a supportive workplace culture.
This Restaurant Manager position at Olive Garden is designed for individuals passionate about leadership, customer service, and team development. Restaurant Managers report directly to the General Manager and hold a key role in driving the success of the restaurant. They are tasked with leading by example, motivating their team, and ensuring that both guests and staff experience the highest standards of service. The role demands a person-centered, results-oriented approach with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to operational excellence.
Managers enjoy a flexible work environment with a cap of 50 hours per week and typically receive two days off each week, including one weekend off per month. Olive Garden offers generous paid time off policies, including vacation and flex time, maternity and paternity leave, adoption reimbursement assistance, and paid time off for family care after one year of service. Employee wellness is further supported through an Employee Assistance Program designed to help maintain work-life balance.
Opportunities for career advancement are robust, with 99% of General Managers and Directors of Operations promoted from within. Olive Garden invests heavily in training and development, including tuition reimbursement and student loan assistance programs, enabling employees to grow their hospitality careers and expand their professional skills. The company fosters a culture of continuous learning and internal promotion.
Compensation includes a competitive base salary with quarterly bonus eligibility, immediate access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, and company-paid short-term disability and life insurance. Employees also benefit from discounts with a wide range of merchants, including cell phones, daycare, and clothing. After one year, additional benefits include a company 401(k) plan with an extraordinary match of up to 120% on the first 6% of earnings, a retirement contribution of 1.5% of eligible salary, and an employee stock purchase program offering shares at a 15% discount.
Beyond business, Olive Garden is deeply committed to local community involvement and corporate social responsibility. The company has donated over 44 million pounds of food to hunger relief efforts and provided millions of dollars in grants and donations to support communities across all 50 states. Safety and sanitation remain top priorities, with protocols aligned to CDC guidelines to protect the health of guests, team members, and managers.
Working as a Restaurant Manager at Olive Garden means being part of a family-oriented culture where everyone supports each other and works together to deliver memorable experiences. The company’s motto, "We're All Family Here," reflects the strong bonds among employees and their shared commitment to excellence and hospitality.
