Job Description
Olive Garden is a well-established and beloved restaurant chain known for its commitment to quality Italian dining coupled with exceptional guest service. With over 870 restaurants across the United States and Canada, Olive Garden has built a reputation not only as a place where guests enjoy delicious meals but also as an employer that puts family, quality of life, and career advancement at the forefront of its mission. This commitment is reflected in its various employee-centric benefits, including flexible work schedules, paid time off, and programs designed to give each team member support both inside and outside the workplace.
For the position of Restaurant Manager at Olive Garden, the pay is variable by location, reflecting the differing market conditions across their nationwide venues. The role offers competitive compensation including a base salary and eligibility for quarterly bonuses, which reward performance and dedication. Additionally, there is immediate eligibility for comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as company-paid short-term disability and life insurance, underscoring the company’s dedication to employee wellbeing.
The role of Restaurant Manager is pivotal within Olive Garden’s structure. Reporting directly to the General Manager, Restaurant Managers are entrusted with leading teams by demonstration of passion for service excellence, strong interpersonal skills, and a results-driven mindset. They take initiative in operational responsibilities while cultivating a positive, supportive environment for their teams. The company encourages a balance between professional ambition and personal life, regularly ensuring that managers work no more than 50 hours per week and receive two days off, including one weekend per month to enjoy life beyond work.
At Olive Garden, restaurant managers benefit from significant training and career development opportunities. The majority of General Managers and Directors of Operations have been promoted from within, thanks to tailored training programs, tuition reimbursement, and support with student loans. This commitment to advancement creates a promising career pathway for managers who show dedication and leadership potential. The company also provides adoption reimbursement assistance, paternity and maternity leave, and special paid time for family care after a year of service.
In addition to career and personal benefits, Olive Garden emphasizes community involvement and social responsibility. Their philanthropic efforts include donating over 44 million pounds of food for hunger relief, disbursing $30.4 million in emergency grants to team members, and providing $6.5 million in donations to food banks nationwide. This ethos of giving back enhances the company culture and invigorates team members’ pride in their workplace.
Safety and sanitation remain top priorities at Olive Garden, with continuous alignment to CDC Covid-19 protocols to protect guests, team members, and managers alike. This focus ensures a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.
Being a Restaurant Manager at Olive Garden is more than a job; it's an opportunity to be part of a family devoted to acceptance, support, and growth. The company’s slogan, “We’re All Family Here!” encapsulates the spirit that guides every manager in their leadership journey. If you are ready to lead with passion, create memorable experiences for guests, and grow your career in a nurturing and dynamic environment, Olive Garden is the place for you.
