Job Description
Church's Chicken is a well-established quick service restaurant chain that has been passionately serving real comfort food for over 60 years. Known for its signature chicken and commitment to quality, the brand has become a cherished dining spot for many seeking a high-quality, value-oriented meal in a friendly and welcoming environment. As a leader in the fast food industry, Church's Chicken takes pride in not only delivering delicious food but also in fostering career opportunities for hardworking individuals who want to grow and make a meaningful impact through service. The company values integrity, respect, and excellence, making it a respected place to work and dine.
The Church's Restaurant General Manager (RGM) role is pivotal to the success of each restaurant location. This position is a full-time opportunity with a demanding schedule that typically ranges from 50 to 55 hours per week, including flexible shifts and weekend work. The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all business operations of the restaurant, ensuring that guests receive a superior dining experience characterized by quick, accurate, and friendly service in a clean and safe environment. Beyond meeting sales goals and controlling expenses within budget, the RGM must create a positive workplace culture where team members are motivated, engaged, and encouraged to develop their skills while delivering exceptional customer service.
This leadership position requires hands-on management, with direct reports including an Assistant Restaurant General Manager and Shift Leaders, though the number of reports can vary based on the restaurant's size and sales volume. The RGM is expected to build and maintain a team culture that upholds Church's Chicken's standards for food quality, guest satisfaction, and operational excellence. Emphasis is placed on training, cross-training, and coaching team members to grow both personally and professionally. Customer engagement is critical in this role; effectively handling guest feedback and complaints using the 'listen, apologize, satisfy, and thank' approach is a core responsibility to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Operational duties also include ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, maintaining labor law adherence, budgeting, inventory management, and routine equipment maintenance. The General Manager regularly prepares and analyzes operational reports to inform decision-making and identify areas for improvement. Church's Chicken looks for candidates who possess a solid grasp of restaurant policies and procedures, labor and cost control, and business reporting, along with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
In sum, the Church’s Restaurant General Manager role offers a unique career opportunity for individuals passionate about the food service industry who thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where they can lead teams and drive business success. With over six decades of legacy and a commitment to making a difference through food and people, Church's Chicken provides a rewarding path for professional growth and achievement within the quick service restaurant sector.
