Job Description
Olive Garden is a renowned casual dining restaurant chain known for its authentic Italian-American cuisine and warm, inviting atmosphere. With over 870 restaurants located across the United States and Canada, Olive Garden is celebrated for its commitment to quality food, service, and community involvement. The company emphasizes a family-oriented culture, promoting acceptance, support, and strength among its employees. This culture extends beyond the dining experience into their management and team dynamics, fostering an environment where every team member feels valued and empowered. Olive Garden's dedication to employee well-being is demonstrated through extensive benefits and career advancement opportunities that reflect their core values of respect and teamwork.
The role of the Restaurant Manager at Olive Garden is vital to the success of each location. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Restaurant Manager is accountable for leading restaurant teams with passion, focus on results, and a strong commitment to exceptional guest service. This position requires individuals who take initiative, enjoy working with people, and are dedicated to building long-lasting relationships both within their team and with guests. The Restaurant Manager is responsible for maintaining an operational environment that upholds the highest standards of quality, safety, and cleanliness.
At Olive Garden, Restaurant Managers benefit from a balanced work schedule, typically working no more than 50 hours per week with two days off, including one weekend off per month. This balance, combined with comprehensive training programs, career advancement opportunities, and competitive compensation—including a base salary ranging from $55,000 to $63,000 per year plus quarterly bonuses—makes the role attractive to individuals passionate about hospitality. The company supports restaurant managers by offering immediate eligibility for medical, dental, and vision insurance, company-paid short-term disability and life insurance, and a variety of employee assistance programs. Beyond health benefits, Olive Garden further invests in its managers through tuition reimbursement, student loan assistance, and a robust 401(k) retirement plan with a remarkable company match of up to 120% on the first 6% of earnings.
Olive Garden fosters a culture of career growth, with 99% of General Managers and Directors of Operations promoted from within the organization. This strong internal promotion system is bolstered by ongoing training and development specifically designed to enhance managerial skills and leadership capabilities in the hospitality industry. Furthermore, the company is deeply committed to community involvement, having donated over 44 million pounds of food to hunger relief efforts and millions in grants to team members and food banks nationwide. This underscores Olive Garden’s holistic approach to being a responsible and caring employer.
In summary, the Restaurant Manager position at Olive Garden offers an exceptional opportunity to lead in a dynamic and supportive environment that values work-life balance, professional development, and community engagement. Those who thrive in roles that combine people leadership, operational excellence, and a dedication to service will find a rewarding and fulfilling career path at Olive Garden, where the philosophy "We're All Family Here!" truly resonates.
