Job Description
Olive Garden is a renowned casual dining restaurant brand known for its commitment to authentic Italian cuisine, warm hospitality, and a welcoming atmosphere. As a leader in the restaurant industry with over 870 locations across the United States and Canada, Olive Garden prides itself on fostering a family-oriented environment where employees are valued and supported. The company emphasizes work-life balance, career advancement, and community involvement, making it not just a place to work, but a place to grow and thrive. With a focus on quality service and a passion for food, Olive Garden continues to be a favorite dining destination for guests seeking a genuine culinary experience.
The role of Restaurant Manager at Olive Garden is a pivotal position that directly impacts the success of each restaurant. Reporting to the General Manager, the Restaurant Manager is responsible for leading a dedicated team with enthusiasm and a results-driven mindset. The position offers a unique balance of flexibility and responsibility, ensuring that managers can effectively guide their teams while also maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Restaurant Managers at Olive Garden typically work no more than 50 hours per week and enjoy two days off, along with one weekend off per month. This commitment to quality of life is supported by paid vacation and flex time, with new hires eligible for up to three weeks of paid time off within their first year. Additional benefits include free access to an Employee Assistance Program to aid work-life balance, paternity and maternity leave, adoption reimbursement assistance, and paid family care leave after one year of service.
Career development is a cornerstone at Olive Garden, where 99% of General Managers and Directors of Operations have been promoted from within the organization. The company offers substantial and ongoing training, tuition reimbursement, and support for student loan repayment, empowering managers to advance within the hospitality industry. Restaurant Managers also receive competitive base salaries with quarterly bonus eligibility and are immediately eligible for comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance. Olive Garden further provides company-paid short-term disability and life insurance coverage, plus discounts at a wide range of retailers and service providers.
Financial well-being is also a priority, with a robust retirement plan that includes a 401(k) match up to 120% on the first 6% of earnings, and an additional Retirement Plus Benefit contributing 1.5% of eligible salary to employees' 401(k) accounts. The Employee Stock Purchase Program allows team members to buy company stock at a 15% discount, underscoring the company's dedication to rewarding and investing in its workforce.
Beyond its internal commitments, Olive Garden actively supports local communities by donating over 44 million pounds of food to hunger relief efforts and contributing more than $30 million in grants to team members through an emergency assistance fund. The company also donates millions to food banks across all 50 states, demonstrating a strong commitment to social responsibility. Safety is a top priority as well, with protocols aligned with CDC guidelines to protect guests, team members, and managers alike.
Joining Olive Garden as a Restaurant Manager means becoming part of a family where acceptance, support, and strength form the foundation of daily work life. This role offers a fulfilling career path with opportunities for growth, a supportive workplace culture, and a comprehensive benefits package designed to enhance both professional and personal well-being. At Olive Garden, you truly are part of the family, united by a shared passion for service and success.
