The role of the Manager at Baker's Crust Artisan Kitchen is crucial to maintaining the high standards and smooth operations of the restaurant. You will be responsible for staffing decisions, including hiring and termination, ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained, and managing employee files with attention to disciplinary actions and workplace incidents. Maintaining excellent sanitation standards and food quality is also an important duty, including proper food handling, portion control, recipe adherence, and inventory management.

Guest interaction is another key aspect of this role. You will greet guests professionally and promptly, ensure compliance with alcohol consumption laws, and maintain high standards of service throughout their dining experience. Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Passionate about food and has culinary/cooking skills
  • Valid Food Handler's Card
  • Current American Red Cross certifications in Adult First Aid and CPR
  • Minimum three years experience as a restaurant manager preferred
  • Minimum three years experience working in a full service restaurant
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing
  • Must have courteous, friendly and professional demeanor
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for prolonged periods up to 8 hours
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Consistent cash handling skills
  • Able to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environment with positive attitude
  • Experience with P&L and sales building
  • Possess excellent basic math skills and ability to operate POS system
  • Possess strong team building, leadership and coaching experience

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Assist the general manager in overseeing every aspect of restaurant operations
  • Meet company P&L and expense goals
  • Understand and operate the business in accordance with company policies, procedures and applicable laws
  • Responsible for financial and personnel/payroll administrative duties completed accurately and on time
  • Maximize sales and profits through management of food, supplies and labor costs
  • Establish and maintain appropriate staffing levels, make employment and termination decisions
  • Maintain all employee files including disciplinary actions and incidents
  • Check and maintain service areas for set-up and cleanliness
  • Possess full knowledge of bar and menu items and make recommendations
  • Greet guests professionally and timely
  • Verify guests purchasing alcohol are at least 21 years old
  • Take food and beverage orders accurately and timely
  • Develop staff in job duties, customer service, and sanitation standards
  • Maintain positive employee relations and administer corrective actions when necessary
  • Ensure adherence to food quality and freshness standards
  • Conduct inventories and order food and beverage items
  • Enforce safe work behaviors to maintain a safe environment
