Job Description

With established locations in Sacramento, CA, Los Angeles, CA, and Tulsa, OK, Fixins Soul Kitchen has gained a strong reputation as one of the nation’s premier soul food concepts. The brand is celebrated for its rich culinary heritage, inviting ambiance, and dedicated service staff that ensures every guest feels welcomed and cared for. Recently, Fixins Soul Kitchen expanded its footprint by opening a new location in Downtown Detroit, aiming to bring its beloved menu and top-tier hospitality to the Detroit community and surrounding areas.

We are currently seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to lead our Detroit team through this exciting growth phase. This is a full-time opportunity offering a competitive annual salary range of $80,000 to $90,000, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package. The ideal candidate will have a strong background working in fast-paced, high-volume full-service restaurant environments, with proven leadership skills and the ability to manage both front-of-house and bar operations effectively.

The Restaurant Manager will report directly to the General Manager and play a pivotal role in ensuring operational excellence across all facets of the restaurant. This includes driving sales growth, enhancing guest satisfaction, maintaining food and beverage quality, and maximizing profitability. You will be responsible for implementing and monitoring training programs, managing staff performance, and upholding the company’s high standards of service and operational procedures.

This role demands someone who can multi-task efficiently while working under pressure, balancing the demands of managing staff, scheduling, and customer service excellence. Candidates with prior experience as Bar Managers are especially encouraged to apply, as their expertise will be invaluable in overseeing the seamless integration of bar services within the restaurant’s operations.

In this leadership position, you will foster a positive and productive work environment by motivating your team to deliver outstanding service consistently. You will ensure that all guests receive courteous, responsive service and that the restaurant environment remains clean, safe, and well-maintained. Handling administrative responsibilities such as paperwork, scheduling, and compliance with health and labor regulations will also be part of your day-to-day activities.

Job Requirements

  • Several years experience in restaurant management
  • Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced full service environment
  • Strong multitasking and pressure management skills
  • Knowledge of training and development practices
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations
  • Excellent communication and leadership capabilities
  • Proficient with business software and internet tools

Job Qualifications

  • Several years experience as a restaurant manager or similar position
  • Good business math skills and ability to analyze cost reports
  • Strong problem solving and decision making skills
  • Proficient computer skills including internet, email, and Microsoft Office tools
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience managing large teams in a fast paced environment
  • Prior bar management experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Understand all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, and training programs
  • Ensure guests receive responsive, friendly, and courteous service
  • Hire, schedule, train, and develop restaurant staff
  • Achieve sales, service, quality, and cleanliness objectives
  • Fill in for staff as needed to maintain service standards
  • Prepare necessary paperwork including reports and schedules
  • Monitor equipment cleanliness and maintenance
  • Oversee deliveries to ensure compliance with receiving policies
  • Conduct timely employee performance appraisals
  • Schedule labor in line with business demands and labor cost goals
  • Administer fair corrective actions for violations of company policies
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and labor regulations
