Job Description
Olive Garden is a prominent leader in the casual dining restaurant industry, recognized for its commitment to delivering exceptional Italian-inspired meals and an inviting atmosphere to guests across the United States and Canada. As part of a large family of over 870 restaurants, Olive Garden emphasizes a supportive workplace culture that fosters career growth, personal development, and community involvement. The company is dedicated to maintaining a high standard of quality and customer satisfaction, making it a desirable employer in the hospitality sector.
The Restaurant Manager role at Olive Garden is designed for dynamic individuals who are passionate about hospitality and motivated to lead teams towards operational excellence. This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $55,000 to $63,000 per year, complemented by quarterly bonus eligibility. Specifically, the Restaurant Manager works closely with the General Manager and is accountable for driving results through effective people management, superior guest service, and operational oversight. The role demands a leader who is initiative-taking, people-focused, and capable of building strong relationships within their team.
Olive Garden values work-life balance, offering Restaurant Managers a structured schedule that typically does not exceed 50 hours per week, with guaranteed two days off and at least one weekend off per month. This focus on quality of life is further supported by up to three weeks of paid vacation and flex time within the first year, as well as a comprehensive Employee Assistance Program to support work-life balance. Additionally, Olive Garden provides paid maternity, paternity, and adoption leave, underscoring its family-oriented culture.
Career advancement is a cornerstone at Olive Garden, with the vast majority of General Managers and Directors of Operations having been promoted from within. Restaurant Managers have access to significant, ongoing training and development programs, tuition reimbursement, and student loan support to help advance their careers in hospitality. The company also offers strong health benefits, inclusive of immediate eligibility for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as company-paid short-term disability and life insurance, which ensures the health and well-being of its employees.
Further benefits include discounts at over 100,000 merchants, a robust 401(k) plan with a match up to 120% on the first 6% of earnings, and a company-paid Retirement Plus Benefit of 1.5% of eligible salary added annually to the 401(k) account after one year of service. Employees can also participate in the Darden Employee Stock Purchase Program, acquiring stock at a 15% discount. Olive Garden is deeply invested in community involvement, having donated over 44 million pounds of food for hunger relief, contributed $30.4 million in grants through its emergency assistance fund, and provided $6.5 million to food banks nationwide.
The company prioritizes safety and sanitation, especially in response to COVID-19, adhering strictly to CDC guidelines to protect guests, team members, and management staff. At its core, Olive Garden is not just a workplace but a family that supports acceptance, strength, and unity. Working as a Restaurant Manager here means being part of a winning team that values innovation, teamwork, and a collective desire to succeed while helping build an exceptional dining experience for customers every day.
