Job Description
Olive Garden is a leading casual dining restaurant chain specializing in Italian-American cuisine, with over 870 locations across the U.S. and Canada. Known for its warm hospitality and commitment to family values, Olive Garden has established itself as a beloved destination for guests seeking delicious food served with genuine care and passion. The company embraces the philosophy of 'We’re All Family Here,' creating a supportive and inclusive environment for both guests and team members alike. Olive Garden is part of a larger family of restaurants recognized for quality, innovation, and growth opportunities, making it a preferred place to build a career in the hospitality industry.
The Restaurant Manager position at Olive Garden plays a crucial role in upholding the company’s commitment to exceptional service and operational excellence. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role requires a dynamic leader who can motivate and develop team members while ensuring a memorable guest experience. While the pay varies by location, restaurant managers enjoy competitive base salaries with eligibility for quarterly bonuses, reflecting their contribution to the restaurant’s success. This role offers a regular schedule with no more than 50 working hours per week, ensuring work-life balance by providing two days off weekly and at least one weekend off per month.
Olive Garden’s commitment to quality of life is demonstrated through comprehensive benefits such as paid vacation and flex time that accrue up to three weeks within the first year, maternity and paternity leave, adoption reimbursement assistance, and paid family care leave after one year of service. To support managers both personally and professionally, Olive Garden provides a free Employee Assistance Program focused on work-life balance. The company invests in career growth with significant training and development opportunities, promoting from within at a remarkable rate—99% of General Managers and Directors of Operations started as team members and moved up through the ranks. Tuition reimbursement and student loan assistance are also available for qualified employees.
Restaurant Managers at Olive Garden are essential to fostering a positive and productive workplace culture. They lead their teams by example, emphasizing people-focused leadership and results-driven management. Responsibility for safety and sanitation is paramount, with strict adherence to CDC Covid-19 guidelines to protect guests and staff. The role includes accountability for operational performance, guest satisfaction, team development, and financial management. Managers are also encouraged to engage with local communities through Olive Garden’s philanthropic initiatives, including hunger relief efforts and emergency assistance funds.
In this role, you will be part of a winning family with an established brand that values your contributions and supports your career path. You will enjoy weekly pay, immediate eligibility for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as company-paid short-term disability and life insurance. Benefits extend to discounts at over 100,000 merchants, and after one year, 401(k) retirement plans with company match and additional retirement contributions, plus employee stock purchase opportunities at a discount. Olive Garden’s supportive and flexible culture is designed to help you thrive both professionally and personally, making this an ideal opportunity for a passionate leader looking to grow within the hospitality industry.
