The Restaurant General Manager plays a critical role as the top-level supervisor and manager within our restaurant locations. This position carries full profit and loss (P&L) responsibilities, underscoring its significance in driving the financial success and operational excellence of the establishment. The General Manager is accountable for overseeing all aspects of daily restaurant operations, ensuring that the restaurant functions smoothly and efficiently to meet or exceed company standards.
In this role, the Restaurant General Manager is responsible for the selection, development, and performance management of all employees within the restaurant. This includes recruiting qualified candidates, providing effective training and coaching, monitoring employee performance, and implementing strategies to boost team productivity and morale. A strong focus is placed on cultivating leadership among Assistant Managers, Shift Leads, and other staff members, preparing them to take on greater responsibilities and contribute meaningfully to the restaurant's ongoing success.
The General Manager is also tasked with ensuring that the restaurant complies with all company policies and procedures, including the consistent execution of the company’s mission, vision, and core values. This leadership position requires a keen eye for detail, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to make sound decisions that align with the brand’s standards and financial objectives.
Reporting directly to the District Manager and Director of Operations, the Restaurant General Manager communicates vital information about operational performance, financial results, staffing, and customer feedback. They play an instrumental role in shaping the strategic initiatives for their location, facilitating continuous improvement and innovation in service delivery and operational processes.
A mandatory requirement for all positions within the restaurant related to the preparation, handling, and serving of food is the possession of a valid Food Handler Card or an equivalent certification. This certification ensures compliance with food safety regulations and promotes a safe and hygienic environment for both employees and customers.
