Job Description

Velvet Taco is a unique fast-casual restaurant concept known for its chef-driven menu that redefines the traditional taco experience. Founded with the philosophy that tacos can be elevated beyond Tex-Mex cuisine into an art form, Velvet Taco embraces creativity and innovation by using only the freshest ingredients and exploring multicultural flavors. The restaurant prides itself on slow-roasting its own chicken and corn, crafting cocktails with a generous amount of booze in margaritas, and preparing everything from scratch to deliver an exceptional dining experience. This dedication to quality and originality has helped Velvet Taco build a distinct brand identity as a vibrant and funky dining destination where "anything goes meets the art of the possible." Velvet Taco is currently seeking a talented Restaurant Manager with hospitality and scratch kitchen experience to join its dynamic team. This full-time role offers a competitive salary range of $55,000 to $60,000 per year, plus up to 10% performance bonus paid quarterly, recognizing the value of leadership that drives excellence in restaurant operations, food quality, and customer service. The Restaurant Manager will be responsible for supporting the management team in overseeing daily restaurant operations, ensuring consistent high standards in food quality and cleanliness, and fostering a culture of development, recognition, and teamwork among staff members. This position is ideal for someone who is relentless in the pursuit of excellence, passionate about food and hospitality, and committed to creating a positive work environment where employees feel valued and inspired. Velvet Taco champions a team-oriented philosophy, referring to their workforce as a "tribe" that stands together with a shared purpose to win. The company offers abundant career development opportunities with strong internal promotion rates, leadership programs, and a commitment to promote from within. In addition to a 5-day work week with a rotating schedule, employees benefit from medical, dental, and vision insurance after 30 days of employment, a 401(k) retirement plan, company-paid short-term, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage. The restaurant encourages casual work attire and even offers some fun perks such as free tacos and an unusual but memorable incentive where the CEO will pay for a Velvet Taco tattoo if an employee chooses to get one. Velvet Taco’s support extends beyond the kitchen and dining room to focus on the well-being and professional growth of their managers and team members, ensuring a rewarding work experience. This role requires a motivated leader who can drive performance while maintaining an inviting atmosphere for guests and staff alike. The Restaurant Manager will play a crucial role in training, developing, and recognizing employees to ensure a five-star guest experience is consistently delivered. Velvet Taco celebrates individuality and is an equal opportunity employer committed to selecting the best candidates based on their qualifications, regardless of race, color, creed, sex, religion, national origin, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, or medical condition. If you are passionate about food, dedicated to hospitality excellence, and eager to be part of a vibrant tribe with a rebellious spirit, Velvet Taco invites you to bring your talents to this exciting opportunity at their in-person restaurant location.
