Job Description
Anani Restaurant Group is a distinguished culinary establishment founded by the award-winning Detroit chef Omar Anani. Chef Anani, known for his nationally recognized restaurant Saffron De Twah, has played a significant role as a James Beard Award finalist in shaping Detroit’s modern food scene with his vibrant and globally inspired cuisine. As an innovative and growing restaurant group, Anani continues to expand its vision of culture, hospitality, and community through the development of new restaurant concepts. One of the latest additions to their portfolio is Nomad Rotisserie, a fresh and exciting venture that represents the group's commitment to eclectic dining experiences. This emerging concept is designed to build on Anani Restaurant Group's legacy of excellence, offering guests a unique culinary journey marked by exceptional food and memorable service.
Working with Anani Restaurant Group means being part of a passionate and driven team that values collaboration, creativity, and dedication to quality. The group fosters an inclusive culture where every team member contributes to building meaningful community connections over shared meals. Their commitment to diversity and merit-based employment underscores their ethos as an equal opportunity employer.
The Line Cook/Prep Cook role at Nomad Rotisserie is critical to the successful launch and ongoing operation of this new dining experience. This position plays a central role in the kitchen, serving as the engine that powers daily meal service. Candidates in this role are expected to prepare and execute most of the menu items with precision, speed, and consistent excellence, ensuring that service flows smoothly and efficiently. The role is dynamic and involves much more than cooking; it encompasses controlling service rhythms, managing kitchen organization, maintaining cleanliness, and upholding the highest standards of food safety and quality.
Ideal candidates thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment and take immense pride in their ability to deliver consistent results under pressure. They must demonstrate strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and a proactive approach to solving problems on the fly. This job emphasizes accountability and the ability to work independently without constant supervision, while also being an effective team player.
Alongside their primary responsibilities behind the scenes in the kitchen, Line Cook/Prep Cooks at Nomad Rotisserie have the opportunity to participate in cross-training initiatives. This unique aspect of the role allows team members to extend their skills into the front of the house by learning to take orders, manage guest interactions, support upselling initiatives, and ensure that customers receive prompt and attentive service. This commitment to a one-team philosophy fosters a holistic understanding of restaurant operations and enriches the overall guest experience.
This role demands reliability, punctuality, and a readiness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, to meet the needs of a bustling restaurant operation. Candidates must be physically capable of enduring the demands of a kitchen environment, including prolonged standing, exposure to heat and flames, and the ability to lift heavy items. Nomad Rotisserie promises an exciting and rewarding opportunity for culinary professionals eager to grow with a reputable group and contribute to a vibrant food community. This position offers a meaningful career path in a respected restaurant group that champions innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction.
