The Restaurant Line Cook position at Great Wolf is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about culinary excellence and guest satisfaction. Working in a fast-paced, energetic environment, the Line Cook prepares food items in accordance with the executive chef’s recipes and standards to ensure high-quality meals that exceed guest expectations. This role supports daily kitchen operations, maintaining food safety and sanitation, and collaborating closely with other culinary team members. The Restaurant Line Cook is responsible for numerous tasks, including maintaining operating procedures, ensuring compliance with food-handling and sanitation regulations, and preparing various ingredients like fruits, vegetables, meats, poultry, and fish according to recipes. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- minimum two years of previous cook experience in a similar environment
- comprehensive knowledge of food preparation and sanitation
- ability to work with Point of Sale and Kitchen Display Systems
- must be flexible regarding scheduling including nights, weekends and holidays
- must be able to obtain local or state food handling permits and ServSafe food handling certification as required
- successful completion of criminal background check and drug screen
Job Qualifications

- experience as a la carte, buffet line cook or resort/hotel cook preferred

Job Duties
- Maintain and follow all department operating procedures
- ensure completion of daily temperature logs, daily cleaning logs, line check sheets and food waste sheets
- ensure compliance with all food-handling and sanitation regulations
- perform food preparation tasks for all fruits, vegetables, meats, poultry, fish, etc. used in restaurants and banquets
- execute food orders according to guest preference in a timely manner while working on multiple orders at once
- prepare all food items per recipe guidelines, tasting and adjusting for flavor with assistance of supervisor and chefs
- control recipes by weighing and measuring designated ingredients
- coordinate with Main Kitchen Cook for successful completion of daily prep, restocking of workstations, meal breaks, and end of shift cleaning duties
- keep supplies and food ready by inventorying stock
- support in stocking food and supply inventory
- requisition supplies and foodstuffs
- verify receipt
- inform chef of shortages
- monitor supply levels of food, paper goods, and small wares in heart of house area
- maintain appropriate levels of dishes and utensils
- keep all dishware clean, sanitary, and in good condition
- maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by cleaning work areas, food storage areas, equipment and utensils
- segregate and remove garbage
- follow sanitation standards and legal regulations
- maintain and follow all Ecosure or similar food safety and sanitation program standards
- maintain correct cleaning schedules on all equipment
- keep equipment operating by following instructions and performing preventative maintenance
- assist and support operation at request of Sous Chef, Executive Chef or other leadership
- check out and communicate shift information with culinary leader at end of shift
