The Lead Restaurant Host at Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless flow and superior operation of the restaurant. This full-time permanent position is situated within the Food & Beverage Services department, based in Dallas, Texas. As the first point of contact for guests, the Lead Restaurant Host is entrusted with providing a warm and welcoming greeting that sets the tone for an exceptional dining experience. In close collaboration with the hosting and reservation teams, this role manages the dining room's seating flow to maximize guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities extend to assisting with the preparation and maintenance of the restaurant environment, including cleanliness and setup, ensuring all hotel standards are strictly observed. The Lead Restaurant Host manages restaurant reservations and the reservation book to optimize seating and covers, while also facilitating the planning and booking of large parties, including menu coordination and all event details. This position actively monitors guests’ needs throughout their visit, ensuring that every interaction reflects Rosewood’s hallmark standards of hospitality.

In addition to guest-facing tasks, the Lead Restaurant Host contributes to the ongoing training of new hosts, ensuring they are proficient with the reservation system, in-house protocols like InDesign, and the company's established standards such as Rosewood’s LQA and FTG service guidelines. This role also has managerial duties including assigning stations, conducting opening and closing responsibilities, and maintaining the overall hospitality workflow with a keen eye for detail. Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards
  • ensure that standards are maintained at a superior level daily
  • maintain complete knowledge of scheduled daily activities and in-house groups

  • be familiar with hours of operation of each outlet, ambiance, menu selections and price range
  • know features and services provided by the hotel
  • maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, specials, 86'd items, liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic selections available
  • strictly abide by state liquor regulations, prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons, and drunk driving
  • maintain knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, proper table setups, room capacity, hours of operation, price range and dress code
  • assist F&B Private Dining Coordinator with booking large parties, printing special menus
  • prepare station chart and assign stations to associates
  • set up host station with necessary supplies and maintain cleanliness
  • inspect condition and cleanliness of menus and wine lists
  • inspect restaurant environment and entrance area to ensure standards are met and cleanliness
  • inspect tables and stations for proper setup and relay deficiencies
  • guide servers and server assistants in table setup
  • answer restaurant telephone courteously and efficiently
  • take, record, and confirm restaurant reservations and cancellations
  • maintain positive guest relations
  • call upcoming anniversaries and birthdays to invite them back
  • greet and acknowledge arriving guests at all times
  • escort guests to tables and assist in seating, present menus and extend congenialities
  • anticipate guest needs and respond promptly
  • accommodate requests for information courteously
  • oversee special attention guest and media reservations
  • monitor OpenTable/Sevenrooms reservations
  • set up and update reservation systems for events
  • manage holiday and special programming reservations
  • monitor service conformity to standards
  • extend courteous departures
  • ensure tables are cleaned and reset
  • complete closing duties
  • document information in restaurant logbook
  • be familiar with operation of POS and manual systems
  • exhibit friendly, helpful, courteous manner
  • train associates to meet standards
  • perform all other duties as required
