The Supervisor role at Loews Regency New York Hotel is a vital position responsible for maintaining the high standards of the restaurant in absence of the Manager. This role requires strong leadership skills to oversee restaurant activities, manage reservations, ensure smooth guest seating and dining processes, and maintain cleanliness and readiness of dining areas. The Supervisor plays a key role in enhancing guest satisfaction by attending to guest needs, guiding seating arrangements, and ensuring all service aspects meet the hotel’s rigorous standards. Responsibilities also include managing dining room inspections, assigning work stations and side work to team members, and assisting servers when necessary. The position demands excellent communication skills, the ability to handle guest requests gracefully, and a proactive approach to resolving any issues that may arise during service. The Supervisor is expected to promote teamwork, comply with safety procedures, and maintain a professional and welcoming demeanor at all times. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 1 year of experience in restaurant supervision or a similar role

Job Duties

  • Supervises restaurant activities in absence of manager
  • controls reservation book, accepts reservations and enters them accurately
  • maintains guest history files and uses information to enhance repeat guests experience
  • assigns work stations and pre-meal side work, inspects dining room and service areas to ensure task completion
  • maintains guest records including arrival, cover count, seat assignment, turnover, availability
  • inspects menus to ensure cleanliness and acceptability
  • greets guests in a polite and professional manner
  • determines guest needs and verifies table availability
  • guides guests to appropriate tables
  • assists guests with seating and presents menu
  • ensures removal of unnecessary place settings at occupied tables
  • notifies server of guest seating and communicates special needs
  • inspects dining room appearance constantly and assigns corrections
  • monitors dining room activity and assists servers as needed
  • assigns post-meal side work and inspects service areas for task completion
  • performs other duties as assigned
  • promotes and applies teamwork skills at all times
  • promptly reports problems and unusual matters
