The Restaurant General Manager (RGM) at BURGER KING plays a vital executive leadership role focused on driving profitability, enhancing guest satisfaction, developing people, and managing daily operations of a single restaurant location. Reporting directly to the District Manager, the RGM is responsible for the overall management and success of the restaurant, including directing a dedicated team comprising an Assistant Manager, Hourly Shift Coordinators, and 20-45 Team Members. The position requires strong operational expertise, financial acumen, leadership capabilities, and a keen focus on customer experience. The RGM actively manages the P&L, ensuring financial targets are met and profitability is optimized. This role also emphasizes motivating and leading the team to deliver fast, friendly, and accurate service in a clean, welcoming environment.
Beyond financial and operational oversight, the RGM is deeply involved in people management, including the recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, and development of restaurant staff. The manager ensures compliance with all regulatory, legal, and company policy requirements while maintaining brand standards and operational excellence. The role demands adaptability, including the willingness to perform the duties of Assistant Manager and Hourly Shift Coordinator when necessary, and requires availability for evenings, weekends, holidays, and irregular shifts as needed. Job Requirements
- Must be at least eighteen years of age
- High school diploma or GED required
- One to two years of previous restaurant management experience
- Ability to work long and irregular shifts
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Ability to manage a team effectively
