The Restaurant Cook position at Neiman Marcus plays a critical role in supporting the restaurant team to deliver high-quality food items while maintaining cost effectiveness and inventory controls. This role involves cooperation with the kitchen and restaurant personnel to ensure seamless food production aligned with daily menus and special events, contributing directly to the guest experience by managing inventories and food preparation efficiently. The Cook helps uphold the operational standards by maintaining cleanliness, adhering to health and sanitation codes, and managing kitchen equipment and supplies to ensure food quality and safety. Job Requirements

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience

Job Duties

  • Maintain smooth and efficient restaurant operations by producing and coordinating daily and event menu food items
  • Control daily and weekly inventories
  • Maintain team awareness of inventory cost and profitability through production, build-to, and order sheets
  • Consult with supervisor on special preparations before starting kitchen tasks
  • Coordinate production of daily menu items using menu counts and production sheets to control waste
  • Check inventory of all menus
  • Communicate supply needs with head cook
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area adhering to health and sanitation standards
  • Maintain and report kitchen equipment status
  • Communicate promptly with associates regarding food orders
  • Verify special orders with designated associate
  • Manage ongoing production throughout the day to meet supply demands and minimize waste
  • Sanitize and close work area according to health codes
  • Communicate supply orders to supervisor
  • Report to supervisor before leaving
  • Uphold all health and sanitation standards as directed by Neiman Marcus, local health department, and third-party auditors
