Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience
  • Role requires standing, bending, climbing stairs, and lifting and carrying 35 pounds
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong team-oriented mentality and ability to collaborate effectively
  • Knowledge of health and sanitation standards
  • Ability to manage inventory and food production
  • Excellent communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain organizational standards

Job Duties

  • Maintain an active role in smooth and efficient retail restaurant operations by producing and coordinating production of food items needed for daily menus and special events
  • Control daily and weekly inventories
  • Maintain team awareness of inventory cost and profitability through proper use of production, build-to, and order sheets
  • Check in with supervisor for any special preparation needed before starting normal kitchen tasks
  • Coordinate production of daily menu items using menu count and production or build-to sheets to control waste
  • Check inventory of all menus
  • Communicate supply needs for production with head cook
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area following all health and sanitation standards
  • Maintain equipment daily and report any malfunctions
  • Maintain flow of food orders by communicating promptly with associates
  • Verify special orders with designated associate
  • Maintain production of menu items throughout the day to keep up with supply demands and avoid waste
  • Close and sanitize work area promptly according to health codes
  • Gather items needed for next day’s production
  • Communicate supply orders to supervisor
  • Check in with supervisor before leaving
  • Uphold all health and sanitation standards directed by Neiman Marcus, local health department, and third-party sanitation auditors
