The Assistant Restaurant Manager role at PENN Entertainment is a vital position within the company’s new land-based Hollywood Casino in Aurora, where the prestigious dining experience is shaped by the partnership with celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis. This position supports the Restaurant General Manager in daily operations of Sorella by Giada and Sorellina by Giada, bringing a signature blend of classic Italian cuisine and modern California influences to the Chicagoland region. The Assistant Restaurant Manager ensures that the highest standards of guest service, staff performance, and operational efficiency are consistently met, reflecting the upscale dining environment associated with a celebrity chef brand.
In this role, the Assistant Restaurant Manager takes a hands-on approach in supervising front-of-house staff including servers, hosts, bartenders, and bussers. Leadership and motivation of the team are crucial to delivering exceptional guest experiences. The position involves supporting recruitment efforts, training programs, and ongoing development initiatives to maintain excellent service standards. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of restaurant management or supervisory experience
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights weekends and holidays
- Knowledge of state and local alcohol service regulations
- Prolonged standing and walking during shifts
- Ability to lift up to 25-40 pounds occasionally
- Ability to respond quickly to operational or guest service needs
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree or hospitality management coursework preferred
- 3+ years of restaurant management or supervisory experience preferably in upscale fine-dining or celebrity chef establishments
- Strong knowledge of food beverage and service standards in high-volume high-end restaurant environment
- Proven leadership and team development skills
- Experience with POS systems cash handling and operational reporting
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights weekends and holidays
- Knowledge of state and local alcohol service regulations
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities
