We are currently seeking an experienced Restaurant Assistant Manager / Assistant General Manager to join a well-established restaurant organization located in Palm Desert, California. This is a full-time, on-site position offering a competitive annual salary ranging from $65,000 to $70,000 plus bonus incentives. This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on restaurant leader who possesses comprehensive experience across both front-of-house and back-of-house operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing restaurant shifts, supervising and developing a diverse team, and maintaining the highest guest-service standards.

As Restaurant Assistant Manager / Assistant General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations. Your leadership will help ensure smooth restaurant openings and closings, seamless integration of kitchen and front-of-house processes, and consistent adherence to food safety and workplace safety standards. Your role also involves coaching team members, managing labor costs, handling cash procedures, and responding promptly and professionally to guest concerns, ensuring that every dining experience exceeds expectations.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of restaurant management experience required
  • Previous kitchen/back-of-house experience required
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced restaurant environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Food Handler certification or ability to obtain certification during training
  • Responsible Beverage Service certification or ability to obtain it during training
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements associated with restaurant management
  • Must meet applicable age and work-authorization requirements

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Support the General Manager with day-to-day restaurant operations
  • Lead restaurant opening and closing procedures
  • Supervise and develop hourly team members

  • Support both front-of-house and kitchen/back-of-house operations
  • Monitor restaurant cleanliness, food safety, and workplace safety standards
  • Assist with scheduling, staffing, and shift management
  • Handle cash-management and restaurant closing procedures
  • Coach employees and provide ongoing performance feedback
  • Maintain accountability and professional workplace standards
  • Help manage labor and operating performance during assigned shifts
  • Resolve guest concerns professionally and promptly
  • Ensure compliance with restaurant policies and applicable regulations
  • Assist with onboarding and training new team members
  • Partner with restaurant leadership to improve team performance and operational consistency
