The role of Restaurant Assistant General Manager is pivotal in maintaining the high standards of the establishment. Exceptional communication skills are necessary to interact effectively with guests, team members, management, local owners, vendors, and cross-functional teams. The Assistant General Manager ensures a safe, professional, and harassment-free work environment while managing scheduling to meet staffing needs based on projections. Physical demands include the ability to perform tasks that involve bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for prolonged periods, and navigating the restaurant environment safely. The role requires hands-on involvement with kitchen equipment and office tools, requiring dexterity, climbing ladders or step stools, and performing movements such as reaching, kneeling, crouching, and bending. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma
  • some college preferred
  • minimum of three years high volume full-service restaurant management experience
  • exceptional leadership and motivational skills required
  • ability to attract, train, develop, and retain team members
  • strong focus on guest service
  • ability to achieve financial goals related to sales, guest counts, staffing, and cost control
  • ability to perform physical tasks including bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods
  • ability to talk, hear, use hands repetitively, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, climb ladders and stools
  • able to work in restaurant environment
  • maintain safe and harassment-free workplace

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Ensure flawless execution of every detail during shifts by team members
  • provide direction, coaching, training, and development focused on food quality, service standards, safety, sanitation, and company policies
  • ensure adherence to all food, beverage, and service standards
  • partner with General Manager to manage financial performance including inventory and cost controls
  • create and implement plans to improve financial outcomes

  • ensure cleanliness and sufficient supplies
  • maintain safety procedures and equipment operation standards
  • provide a safe, professional, non-hostile, harassment-free work environment
  • handle multiple priorities and work under stress with good judgment
