Job Description
Our client is a distinguished owner and operator of nine unique full-service restaurants located across Orlando, FL, and Alexandria, VA. This company operates with a hyper-local strategy, leveraging strong community connections, a loyal guest following, and a dedicated team to create exceptional dining experiences. With a portfolio of multi-million-dollar restaurants, the organization is committed to impacting lives through extraordinary hospitality, focusing on "our people, our guests, and our community." The company is well-known for its dedication to delivering high-quality food, impeccable service, and a welcoming atmosphere that fosters lasting relationships with both guests and employees.
The Area Director position is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the operational performance of four restaurant locations, two in Alexandria, VA, and two in Orlando, FL. This role involves close collaboration with General Managers to ensure profitability, operational excellence, a strong team culture, and outstanding guest experiences across all designated restaurants. The ideal candidate must be a highly organized, hands-on leader with strong multi-unit restaurant experience and the capability to effectively manage teams separated by geography.
As an Area Director, you will serve as a pivotal operational leader supporting company standards, financial performance, leadership development, and growth initiatives. Your leadership will directly impact the delivery of exceptional hospitality standards, food quality, service consistency, and cleanliness. You will be responsible for managing daily operational challenges ranging from facility issues to staffing and equipment concerns, ensuring all are addressed promptly to maintain smooth operations.
Your role will entail not only overseeing and enhancing operational execution but also mentoring and developing General Managers and their management teams. You will establish accountability and leadership consistency across all locations, managing essential people processes such as meetings, one-on-one coaching, and progressive discipline. Additional responsibilities include supporting recruiting, onboarding, training, and retention efforts while cultivating a positive, hospitality-driven culture focused on teamwork and excellence.
Financial acumen is critical in this role. You will maintain an in-depth understanding of each restaurant’s profit and loss statements, labor reports, food costs, and operational key performance indicators. Driving sales growth, profitability, and operational efficiencies will be paramount. Partnering with General Managers, you will analyze financial trends and identify opportunities to improve margins, reduce waste, and enhance productivity. Educating teams on financial literacy and empowering them to influence their P&L is also a key part of your responsibilities.
Ensuring top-tier hospitality and exceptional guest experiences will be central to your leadership. You will foster a service culture through engaging pre-shift meetings, address escalated guest concerns promptly, and consistently reinforce hospitality standards. Monitoring guest feedback, online reviews, and service metrics will enable you to maintain high service levels.
Operational excellence extends to food and beverage quality control. You will conduct regular quality reviews during restaurant visits, ensuring company standards are met regarding food preparation, recipe adherence, storage practices, and kitchen equipment maintenance. Additionally, you will oversee facilities and maintenance management, proactively addressing issues before they affect operations or the guest experience. This includes coordinating repairs, vendor services, and preventative maintenance across all locations.
The Area Director role requires regular travel between Virginia and Florida locations to maintain strong communication and visibility with restaurant leadership teams. Collaborating closely with the Corporate team on performance updates, operational priorities, and strategic initiatives, the Area Director uses technology and reporting tools to manage multi-state operations effectively. This position oversees four restaurant locations and offers an exciting opportunity to lead and grow within a dynamic hospitality company dedicated to excellence and community impact.
